The Osun State Amotekun Corps Commander, Dr. Adekunle Omoyele, has called for peace across the state as Christians begin the Lenten season, urging them to intensify prayers for unity, harmony, and security.
In a statement issued in Osogbo, Dr. Omoyele commended the Christian faithful for their commitment to peace-building and encouraged them to use the solemn period to pray for the continued stability of the state.
“During this Lenten season, I appeal to all Christians in Osun to remain steadfast in prayers for the peace and progress of our dear state,” he stated.
He stressed that the season calls for deep reflection, spiritual growth, and a renewed commitment to societal development, adding that through collective prayers and dedication, Osun can achieve lasting peace and harmony.
Dr. Omoyele also urged residents to embrace unity and support efforts aimed at sustaining law and order. He reaffirmed the Amotekun Corps’ dedication to ensuring the safety of all citizens, vowing to strengthen security operations to curb crime and maintain order.
As Christians observe the Lenten period marked by fasting, prayer, and self-discipline, Dr. Omoyele’s message reinforces the importance of faith in achieving communal peace and security.
He expressed confidence that through shared efforts and divine intervention, Osun would continue to experience stability and development.
