Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Osun state have been urged to rejig their commitment to the cause of the party in the state.
The acting chairman of the party, Sunday Akanfe made the call in Osogbo while assuming office as the acting Vice Chairman of the party in the state.
It will be recalled that the state chairman, Mr Soji Adagunodo was suspended by the National Working Committee of the party over alledged mal-administration and anti-party activities.
He stressed that as the main opposition party in the state, it is good to lead the teeming army to the battle ahead, noting that a common goal will be more enhanced when ready to serve as leaders.
According to him, working with focus will however entail strict discipline as supported by the letters of the party’s constitution.
Akanfe, who said party members must be ready to submit themselves to the ethos of the party wanting to rescue the State, noted that it is impossible to make headway while we work at cross purposes.
“The time is now to rally round the party with your wealth of experience and your good offices. On my part, I have met with a number of our leaders and this I will continue to do to advance the cause of the party.
“It is my belief that a tree does not make a forest. The mantle of administrative leadership of the party may have fallen on me, but working as a team has become more expedient to meet the yearnings of the good people of Osun state. I enjoin our leaders to be ready to lead with unflinching mind of service.”
He assured to work with various organs of the party including essential Directorates to plant the seed, water and nurture the message of task, the “Operation Rescue Osun State”.
