Student Union of Ondo State College of Health Technology, Akure yesterday dissociated itself from an open letter which was written to the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu “ by the the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee, Ondo axis on Monday.

President of the union, Ajisola Gbenga John spoke while speaking with The Hope yesterday in Akure said the information in the letter was a blatant lie

According to Ajisola, this is a lie from the pit of hell as the governor has invested in no measure in the education sector, saying “the massive investment of the Governor in the College of Health Technology is an attestation to his love for the education sector.”

He said that he has not in any way at any time held any meeting with them with regards to the content of the letter, saying “I am not aware and I have never met with the leadership or members of the parliament.”

He expressed appreciation to the Governor for his infrastructural development in the school, noting that his investment has made the school stand tall among other health colleges in the country.

Also speaking, Provost of the School, Dr. Felix Olawoye also thanked the Governor for providing an enabling environment for the operation of the school.

He said that the school had 100 percent in both Council and board examinations (Community Health Extension Worker and Pharm. Council of Nigeria) adding that the school has zero tolerance for extortion.

It was alleged in a letter jointly signed by student unions presidents of all government tertiary institutions that the present government has created a huge gap between students and government due to the total neglect of the student constituency, adding that the Governor has little passion for the future of both the state and country due to his neglect of the education sector.
