Level-playing ground ’ll guarantee PDP’s victory -Ebiseni

BY Josephine Oguntoyinbo

A Governorship Aspirant under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Chief Sola Ebiseni, has declared that the panacea to win any election is for political parties to ensure level-playing ground for all aspirants.
He stated this in an interview with The Hope in Akure.
According to the legal practitioner, it is easier to reconcile contestants after the primary election when they know that their party had been fair to them.
While saying that he is in the race to win the election, Ebiseni urged politicians and their supporters not to overheat the polity, but allow peace to reign.
“It is our state, no matter what, we have no other state that we can call our own, we must do everything to sustain our image as civilized people”, he stressed.
The three times commissioner posited that his first priority if elected as the governor of the state will be human capital development.
” If given the privilege, having learnt on the feet of the giants in the state, I know the abundant natural resources of the state and some of the unfinished businesses, this is what I stepped out to leverage on”,he said.
He commended the present government in the state for giving concrete effort to the age-long planned Araromi road linking to Lagos state, noting that the advantages are enormous.
“Everybody knows that a direct road to Lagos, from the coastal area of the state is just about 35 minutes. What Ogun state is enjoying today in terms of industrialisation is the spill over from Lagos which has brought tremendous development to the state. This is so because the state is close to Lagos.
“The deep-sea port will equally bring about huge advantages. Also in terms of internal roads infrastructure, this government has tried, therefore, there are some of the programmes of this government that I will continue with and some that I will drop if given the opportunity”, he added.
When asked if the coming in of the Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Agboola Ajayi, to PDP has made the race tighter, he said he does not see it as something to worry about.”It only enlarged the number of aspirants ,I do not believe that it made the race tighter”.
Asked if he believes in zoning, he averred that zoning is in the heart of the people of the state and they had never failed to zone, noting that any party that acts contrary to this political sentiment and culture will have itself to blame. It is not for me to propagate the gospel, everybody knows”, he said
He however posited that the major challenge of politics is that it is now capital intensive.
“Monetisation syndrome in the political environment has made aspirants go extra mile, but it is not insurmountable’, he said.
