LG boss charges NASS on proactiveness

The Caretaker Chairman Okitipupa Local Government, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya has charged the National Assembly team on Nigeria leadership encyclopedia project to avoid flaws of the past so as to have a reliable database.
Adesanya stated this at the Palace of Rebuja of Osooro Land, Oba Gbadebo Bajowa who doubled as the Chairman Okitipupa Local Government Chieftaincy Committee during an interactive meeting with the members of the Nigeria leadership encyclopedia team led by its Director General, Mr. Celestine Ekwe.
The interface meeting had in attendance all the notable Kabiyesis in Okitipupa Local Government area and Okitipupa Local Government Senior Staff.
Speaking at the meeting, the Director General, Mr. Celestine Ekwe, said, the cardinal issues that brought them to the state and to all the 18 Local governments is for the country to have a leaders database for all the political appointees beginning from the President down to the supervisory councillors.
According to him, all the gazette traditional rulers bio data would be collected and the role of Chief security officer of their various domains would be assigned to them through special legislative intervention.
“They would also be expected to nominate three unemployed youths in their various domains for security training as special constables to reduce level of unemployment and to help in checkmating banditry, kidnapping and armed robbery”.
Ekwe, added that the project was also conceived to help in sharing comprehensive data with international communities so as to strengthen the country’s relationship, he said.
On behalf of the traditional institutions, Oba Gbadebo Bajowa described the government’s decision to include traditional rulers as chief security officer of their various domains as laudable but long overdue.
Bajowa, said there have been agitations over the years for the government to give the traditional institutions its rightful place.
