LG boss pledges collaboration with FRSC on road safety

By Adeboye Ado

Chairman of Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Mr Kolapo Ojo, has reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to partner with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in promoting road safety and reducing accidents within the council area.

Ojo made the pledge on Wednesday, during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the FRSC led by Unit Commander, Oluwaseyi Janet Abah, at the council secretariat.

The meeting, which centred on strengthening synergy between the local government and the Corps, also focused on deepening public awareness, promoting strict adherence to traffic regulations, and advancing safety campaigns across the local government.

Commending the efforts of the Corps, Ojo lauded the FRSC officials for their unwavering commitment to safety on Nigerian roads.

He said: “I sincerely commend the FRSC officials for their continued dedication to ensuring road safety. I want to assure you that my administration is fully committed to supporting your efforts.”

Reiterating his administration’s open-door policy, the council boss assured the FRSC of his unwavering support in implementing safety initiatives that would help preserve lives.

“My office operates an open-door policy. Feel free to engage with us anytime. You have my full support, and I am ready to work closely with your team on all safety-related initiatives,” he said.

Ojo further emphasised that road safety remains a shared responsibility that should not be left solely to a single agency.

“That is why this administration will always be available to support initiatives aimed at saving lives and reducing accidents on our roads,” he stated.

He expressed optimism that with sustained collaboration, consistent public sensitisation and strict enforcement of traffic laws, road users in the area would enjoy safer and more efficient travel experiences.
