The Chairman of Ondo West Local Government area of Ondo State, Ayotunde Akinfolarin, has urged parents and guardians in the area to ensure their children are made available for vaccination during the upcoming National Immunization Plus Days in May.

He emphasised the importance of protecting children against preventable diseases and encouraged full participation in the exercise to safeguard the health of the community.

The council boss commended the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (OSPHCDA) for its dedication to promoting public health.

He also reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to supporting the mobilisation and sensitisation of parents, stressing that collective efforts would be made to ensure the success of the immunisation team campaign.

The Hope reported that the vaccination exercise would take place from May 3 to 6, 2025.

He noted that a variety of vaccines, including the measles vaccine, routine immunisations, HPV vaccine, and vitamin A supplements, would be administered.

He explained that health workers would be deployed across health facilities, schools, churches, marketplaces, motor parks, and would also carry out house-to-house visits to ensure wide coverage.

Akinfolarin, however, assured the immunisation team that through collaborative efforts between the local government, health workers, and community stakeholders, the exercise would record remarkable success.

He urged all residents to cooperate with health officials and take advantage of the opportunity to protect their children against life-threatening diseases.
