LG chairmen assure of  massive devt.

As the Ondo State House of Assembly ratified the appointment of caretaker committees chairmen of local governments , the chairmen have assured of people’s oriented projects in their council areas.

Speaking with journalists, the caretaker chairman of Irele Local Government,  Mr Akinbiola Oluwatobi said that he would consolidate on what he  achieved in the first six months and make youths empowerment a priority.

Akinbiola who affirmed that he is very close to his people and know where the shoe pinches, pledged to continue to ensure prompt and equitable delivery of dividends of democracy to his people.

Also, the Caretaker Chairman of Ondo East local government, Mr Akinkuotu Augustine promised to continue to work in tandem  with the vision of the state governor for overall development.

On his own, the caretaker chairman of Akoko South East local government, Mr Yomi Babatunde who described the screening exercise as painstaking  which afforded the lawmakers to have interface with them noted that his people should not expect anything less than good governance which the state government represent.

Prince Abayomi Adesanya of Okitipupa local government informed that environmental sanitation, operation-no, potholes on roads, clearing and expansion of drainages among others will be his priority, adding that the IGR generation will be taken seriously for the people to benefit immensely.

Their Idanre local government counterpart, Mr Jerome Akinsuyi promised to bring the people of his local government together through house to house campaign to ensure his party bounce back in any election while any project to be executed will be completed.

At the plenary presided over by the Speaker,Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, the lawmakers confirmed the appointment of 17 caretaker committee chairmen for the period of six months excluding Mrs  Margaret Akinsuroju from Odigbo local government which was deffered for further clarification.

The speaker had earlier sought for the approval of the nominees upon the submission of the screening committee report before the House by the majority leader, Mr Jamiu Maito. He noted that  the approval became imperative to avoid vacuum in the local governments administration of the state.

Also the assembly approved a sum of seven hundred and thirty nine million four hundred thousand Naira (739,400,000.00) for the purchase of office vehicles for the state judiciary (Ondo State Judges).

This followed a motion moved by the majority leader, Mr Jamiu Maito which was seconded by a lawmaker representing Akure South constituency 11 , Mr Sunday Olajide.

The speaker who noted that mobility of the judiciary in discharging their duties is paramount to equitable justice delivery approved the request through the unanimous decision of the lawmakers.

The plenary sitting was adjourned till today, Monday 1st July 2019.
