Ahead of this Saturday’s APC Local Government Congress, the party stakeholders and leaders in Ondo state have adopted consensus as mode of the congress in the state.
The consensus mode was jointly agreed upon on Tuesday at a well attended stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; the State APC Chairman, Mr. Ade Adetimehin and other party leaders to the all important meeting.
Other party leaders present at the meeting are, former Deputy Governors, Ali Olanusi and Lasisi Oluboyo; the Secretary to the State Government; Princes Oladunni Odu; deputy Speaker, Samuel Aderoboye; Chief Olusola Oke, SAN; Ambassador Sola Iji; Pastor Kole Oluwajana; members of the State Executive Council; members of the State House of Assembly; Local Government Chairmen; and several APC leaders across the 18 Local Government Area;
At the meeting, the party leaders took their time to sing praises to God over the recent Supreme Court victory.
In his welcome address, the Acting State chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin said the essence of the` meeting was to discuss the way forward for the party ahead of the forthcoming (Saturday) Local Government Congress across the state.
He used the occasion to appreciate the party stakeholders for the peaceful conduct of the recently conducted Ward Congress across the 203 Wards in the state, just as he advised the stakeholders to love their party more than themselves.
According to the chairman, the party would not condone any form of indiscipline among members, particularly appealed to all to worker for the peaceful conduct of the Congress.
Adetimehin appealed to all leaders to support and build one united and indivisible party and also learn to tolerate one another.
He explained that the APC government under Governor Akeredolu is doing well in all ramifications including infrastructure, education, agriculture, welfare of workers among others.
Speaking at the meeting, Governor Akeredolu who is also the leader of the party in the state advised the stakeholders to always attach importance to the party meeting in the interest of its development.
Akeredolu appreciated everybody particularly the APC chairman, Ade Adetimehin, for showing and displaying enough time and energy for the development of the party, saying he has made enough sacrifice to unite and develop the party.
