The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has petitioned the State Commissioner of Police over an allegation that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has concluded an arrangement to cause mayhem in all the local government council area secretariats across the state.

Recall that the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo  on Friday nullified the local government election held on October 15, 2022 and the Court in its judgement directed all the  the elected chairmen and councilors to vacate their offices.

However, the sacked chairmen and councilors and APC as a party have filed an appeal over the judgement asking the apppellate to quash the judgement.

According to the petition which was written by Osun APC Counsel, Chief Abimbola Ige, a copy of which was forwarded to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone XI, Osogbo, stating that the PDP with the aid of political hoodlums have  mapped out plans to forcefully take over the local government council secretariats with the use of maximum force.

In the petition titled ‘URGENT NEED TO CURB THE SHENANIGANS AND ATTEMPT TO COMMIT CRIMES OF PDP OSUN OVER THE JUDGMENT OF THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN FHC/OS/94/2022’, the APC appealed to the state Commissioner of Police to take charge of his statutory professional responsibilities in order to avert turning the state into a battle field by the PDP thugs.

The petition reads: “We act as solicitors to the All Progressives Congress (APC)(hereinafter referred to as Our Client on whose instructions, directives and brief we have to write you as follows:

“Our client is a party to the Suit No. FHC/OS/CS/94/2022 – PDP V. INEC & 7 ORS which borders on the legality or otherwise of the conduct of the Local Government election of the 15th October, 2022.

“It is on record that the judgment annulling the said Local Government elections was delivered by His Lordship, Honourable Justice Ayo Emmanuel in respect of the case today being the 25th day of November 2022.
