In a bid to set a new standard for grassroots elections, the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) has begun collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders, relevant government agencies and media outlets ahead of the highly anticipated July 13, 2024, local government polls.

The development was embarked upon by the electoral body for the success of the forthcoming local government and  the Local Council Development Aeas (LCDA) election.

Speaking at the courtesy call to the office of the Comptroller of Immigration, Ondo State Command, the Chairman of the ODIEC, Dr. Joseph Aremo, reiterated that the commission has been saddled with the responsibility of conducting free, credible, and transparent elections at the grassroots to make it a reference point in the history of Nigeria.

He further explained that the electoral umpire had set up a template for the conduct of a credible election, which has resulted in all the political parties in the country showing interest in participating in the local government elections while ensuring compliance with electoral laws and regulations.

Aremo emphasized the importance of collaboration with stakeholders, government agencies, and media to ensure the success of the upcoming election.
