LG polls: Idanre PDP holds chairmanship, councillorship primaries

Ahead of the forthcoming local government election in Ondo State, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Idanre Local Government on Monday and Tuesday held its chairman and Councillorship Primaries.

The primaries witnessed by all the party leaders, electoral officer, security agents and others in the council area produced Mr Akinfala Raphael and Mr Akinrata Ojo as Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship Candidates respectively.

The PDP flag bearer and his vice were announced through affirmation according to statement by Fasoranti Adeyemi Raymond, spokesperson, PDP Idanre local government.

Mr Adegbeyeni Olatunbosun nominated Akinfala Raphael as Chairmanship Candidate while Mr Akindehin Blessing seconded the nomination. All the Councillorship Candidates affirmed the nomination while  the party local government EXCOS, Ward Principal EXCOS all affirmed the nomination.

Mr Akinrata Ojo was also nominated and affirmed as the Party’s Vice Chairmanship Candidate by the existing protocols.

PDP according to the statement had earlier conducted primaries for all its councillorship candidates on Monday

Responding, The PDP candidate, Mr Akinfala appreciated God and the people for the success of the primary.

He also thanked the party leaders in person of Dr Tayo Dairo, Dr Kola Ademujimi and  other leaders for their roles in achieving a successful primary.

He again commended the E.O of Idanre L.G, Mr. Akinkuowo Omolade for his track record of dignity, noting “we have a E.O that will conduct free, fair and credible election.”

He emphasized that the good people of Idanre will vote en-mass for PDP candidates. He also appreciated loyal party members for their steadfastness during the trying periods.
