LG polls: ldanre SDP harps on unity, peace

As the April 18 local government elections in Ondo State is approaching, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in ldanre local government has stressed the need for unity among all party members and advised people in the council to embrace peace before, during and after election.

The Chairman of the party in the local government, Mr. Vincent Akinde gave the charge during the official declaration of the party’s candidates for the chairmanship and councillorship positions ahead of the council polls.

The event which held at the local government party secretariat in Odode, ldanre had the party’s loyalists trooped out in their multitude to declare their supoort for the party chairmanship candidate Mr Bankole Akinselure and his vice Mr. ldowu Akinrotohun among other councillorship candidates.

Akinde, who boasted that the SDP is a party to beat in the coming election called on the party’s faithful not to leave any stone unturned towards the success of the party in the election.

His words ” What we need is to sustain unity among ourselves and peace being enjoyed in ldanre for us to coast to victory in the election”.

Speaking, a member of the House of Representatives representing Idanre and lfedore Federal Constituency under the platform of the party, Mr.Tajudeen Adefisoye who appreciated people of Idanre for their support for his election and the party in the last year general election assured his solid support for all the party’s flag bearers in the forthcoming local government election in the council.

He however, enjoined all well meaning indigenes of Idanre to embrace peace and come out in their multitude to cast their vote for the party.

Unfolding his manifesto at the event, the chairmanship candidate of the party, Mr.Akinselure, said if he emerges as the chairman of the council, assuring that he would use the available God given resources in the council to transform Idanre at large by initiating programmes that will better the lives of people.
