LG polls: Ondo declares Friday work-free day

By Adedotun Ajayi

The Ondo State Government has declared Friday, January 17, as a work-free day for public servants in the state.

This move is in preparation for the local government election set to take place on Saturday, January 18, 2025, by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).

In a statement issued by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor on Thursday, the work-free day will allow civil servants to travel to their communities and partake in the election.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa urged all stakeholders to ensure that the election is conducted peacefully and with fairness, calling for a smooth and orderly process across the state.
