As the tenure of the local government council Chairmen is winding down, the state secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress has requested three nominations in each of the political wards of the State.
The party’s state working committee under the chairmanship of Prince Gboyega Famodun gave the directive in Osogbo during a meeting with local party chairmen and party stakeholders across the State.
Famodun admonished the local party leaders to nominate qualified persons and avoid factions during the selection exercise.
He urged the leaders to be fair while conducting the exercise to avoid unnecessarily rancor which might polarise the party.
Each of the local governments is expected to submit her list to the party secretariat by February 27, 2020.
It will be recalled that before now, there has been controversy over the next phase after the expiration of the current democratically elected council officials but with this directive, it is clear that he state government shall put interim management in all the council to avoid lacuna.
