LG worker slumps, dies in Ondo
From Sade Adewale, Ondo
There was pandemonium at Bolorunduro, in Ondo East Local Government area of the state, following the sudden death of a local government worker, Mr Mathew, who died in his office.
The incident which occurred around 11 am still remained a puzzle to many residents of the area.
The Hope Metro gathered that the deceased who lived at Elemosi in Ondo town, drove to the local government council early on Wednesday morning without any sign of ailment.
It was learnt that Mathew slumped and died some minutes after eating the food he brought from home.
According to sources, on getting to the office on the fateful day, the deceased sat at the back seat of his car to eat his food.
After he was done eating, he was said to be having a discussion with one of his colleagues in the office, when he suddenly slumped.
Immediately, his colleagues quickly swung into action to rush him to the general hospital at Bolorunduro, but he had already passed on.
His body was later deposited at the mortuary.
A staff of the local government who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, for fear of being quizzed by the police noted that “the man who appeared healthy, just slumped during a discussion without collision and died immediately.
“He does not look like someone who is sick and he did not collide with anything that we might say is the cause of his death. This is beyond my imagination,”he said.
However, efforts of The Hope Metro to contact the police for confirmation proved abortive due to communication challenges.
