The Ondo State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) has embarked on sensitisation tour of the 18 local government  areas of the state.

The chairman of the commission, Mr Femi Idris said it’s worrisome that a lot of local government staff were not well informed about the rules and regulations guiding the local government service.

The commission boss, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the commission, Mr Kehinde Ige added that worker’s inability to be abreast of the rules and regulations of the service has caused lots of confusion in the local government administration.

Idris said; “The situation was responsible for the mishandling of information at the local government service and why we have been receiving series of letters requesting  for backdating of promotion and confirmation date. The era when promotion and confirmation letters are backdated has gone and gone forever”

He urged workers who are yet to receive their letter of employment to ensure they apply to get it from the commission ,saying the letter of employment is an important document different from offer of employment they are bandying around.

He therefore enlightened the workers on the existing circular which he said does not recognises  point to point conversion up to grade level 10 where you belong to assistant level of that cadre.

He explained that “if you belong to assistant level of a cadre and you want to move to officer’s cadre in that same cadre, then you can do a point to point conversion to level 10.
