The chairman, Local Government Service Commission in Ondo state, Mr Femi Idris has assured that the current administration will continue to train its workforce for qualitative and efficient service delivery.

Mr Idris stated this while declaring open a one day training workshop organised for  Executive Officers, Confidential Secretaries and Personal Assistants  of the Commission with the theme; “Effective Work Performance Technique”.

He added that the training became necessary to ensure that the productivity level of the workforce is improved and geared towards providing qualitative, efficient service delivery.

He said: “The training will expose participants to the diverse techniques  that will  enhance their efficiency at work, particularly in the area of time management, leadership role at work place, group dynamics and team techniques for organisational success.

“It will also broaden your knowledge and equip you with strategies and techniques to becoming successful leaders as well as exceptional managers in your respective duty posts.

“The task of building a more virile local government is the collective responsibility of all of us.”

The Permanent Secretary of the commission, Mrs Adenike Ogunsola said one of the cardinal objectives of the commission is the training and re-training of workers for optimal performance in rendering an efficient and effective service to the people.

Ogunsola said the commission will not relent in its  responsibility of training and re-training of workers.

She urged  the participants to actively participate in the training programme, saying she was convinced that they will be better equiped with greater determination to handle challenges and opportunities in their day-to-day discharge of their duties.

Some of the participants promised to practice what they have learnt at the training in their respective offices.
