Liberal Platform donates N1m  scholarship

A Non-Government Organization ‘Liberal Platform’ recently distributed free drugs for over  250 both the young and old people at Imeri, Ose Local Government area of Ondo State in order to alleviate their health challenges.

The group also doled out cash gift of N200,000 each to five brilliant students of higher institutions who are indigenes of the state, as part of its social responsibility.

In her opening address, Barrister Jumoke Anifowose Ajasin appreciated individual’s contribution towards making the event a success.

The theme of this year event tagged: Innovation: governance in the digital age, towards a better Nigeria : the challenge of restructuring .

She said the yearly convergence is to listen to cerebral brain to enlighten them on what the nation has for the people and proffer solutions that can be impactful to the society at large.

Since the inception of the group, it has organized various meaningful programmes that was beneficiary to the people of the society like security awareness .

In his welcome speech, the chairman of the occasion, Demola Ijabiyi said the group is non political poise to render social services to the society.

The first lecture was delivered by Toyin Oloniteru who spoke on “Innovation, governance in the digital age’ with emphasis on how to use technological means to solve the nation’s enormous problem.

He said with the advent of ICT in agriculture sector, there would be better results than what it used to be when our parents resorted to substitence farming with low productivity.

The global village is dominated with technology driven purpose to make daily activities more resourceful through adherence to modernization.

While the second lecture was delivered by Dr. Femi Adu on the topic: Towards a better Nigeria :the challenge of restructuring,” he highlighted the impediments to restructuring to include political instability, the oil curse, religion fanatism, systemic flaws, institutional deficiency and security challenges.

He called for social re-orientation and attitudinal change towards making our system work and the entire nation for optimum results.

Dignitaries at the events, included Senator Bode Olajumoke, former House of representatives member, Mrs Yemi Adeyemi and the Provost of Federal College of Agriculture Akure. Dr Samson Odedina.
