Lifeless body of Ekiti poly worker found by roadside

Omisanjana street, Ado-Ekiti, capital of Ekiti State, was thrown into mourning on Tuesday, following the discovery of the lifeless body of a middle-aged man on the major road in the area.
Sources told The Hope Metro that the 53-year-old man, until his untimely death, was a worker at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti.
The cause of his death still remained sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
According to the sources, the lifeless body of the man was discovered infront of a popular Supermarket located on the street.
The incident attracted large numbers of residents of the area to the scene who besieged the scene to catch a glimpse of the corpse.
It was learnt that the deceased was always noticed within the premises of the Supermarket, where he also worked at the Car wash owned by the management of the mart.
According to an impeccable source, who is a resident of the street, the lifeless body of the deceased was discovered by the workers of the Supermarket who had earlier resumed work on Tuesday.
“The alarm raised by the staff attracted other residents and neighborhood to the area.
“His lifeless body was discovered in the middle of the main road with his face and other parts of his body swollen.
When our correspondent arrived at the scene of the incident few hours later, police officers from Okesa divisional police station were seen inspecting the environment and making efforts to evacuate the corpse to the morgue.
Similarly, several broken bottles and rags were noticed around the corpse, including a pair of rubber sandal belonging to him.
Several residents of the area were seen standing in groups discussing the incident.
Some residents of the street who spoke with our correspondent, described the death of the man as painful.
They said though the man whose family was yet to be contacted had been living alone around the Supermarket.
When contracted on the matter, the Public Relations Officer, of the Command, Mr Sunday Abutu, confirmed the receipt of the incident.
He said though he was yet to be properly briefed on the matter, he would get back to our correspondent as soon as possible.
