The state chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Mr Emmanuel Adewumi and an entrepreneur, Mr Kolawole Vincent King have urged the state government to show interest in encouraging local producers particularly through patronage.
He observed that government has not been patronising them as he noted that the bottled water served during the recently concluded partnership economic summit were supplied from Ogun state.
His words: “We have more than enough water factories in the state but we were surprised to see that the government ordered for bottles of water from a neighbouring state. This is not encouraging at all”, he noted.
Government, he said, has not considered the need to visit manufacturers in the state since the administration came on board.
While applauding government for hosting the economic summit, Adewumi said government should look into what he described as double taxation which he said has been a great challenge to industrialists.
Also, the Chief Executive Officer of Word Giantsky Limited, Mr. Kolawole Vincent King complained about the poor government patronage and the bureaucratic nature of government.
He said he had made several efforts to partner with the state government but that all efforts were aborted.
