General Chairman, Ugbogwi garage of Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria (RTEAN),  in Odigbo Local Council, Mr. Victor Iluyomade has described the lockdown orchestrated by the COVID-19 pandemic as difficult but necessary.

Iluyomade, said the stay at home order of the government became necessary and important to put a stop to the epidemic.

Speaking further on the impact of the lockdown, he noted that it’s been difficult for transporters and other businesses especially social activities.

“COVID-19 has brought hardship to the land, we pray to God to heal the world. The lockdown order has affected the transport business negatively; no interstate movement.

“For our people operating inter-town businesses, passagers have been advised to always use nose masks while drivers must avoid over loading”.

Speaking on the same issue Mr. Adeola Adefola believed that the use of nose mask or cover is now part of the  society’s  dressing code.

“As for me, wearing of nose mask is now part of us; both old and young wear it. People should consider their health first, health is wealth.

“I am used to nose mask now; I move around with it. Looking around, it is everywhere. It is a welcome development in the local area

Adefola however urged people to obey all directives by the government and health professionals to curb the spread of coronavirus.

“Stay safe at home; obey social distance of two meters at least and other directives. We must fight the virus together by obeying all orders”.
