Low voter turnout mars guber poll in Ore

As Ondo State electorate go to the polls today, reports from some units in Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government, have revealed a low turnout of voters.
The exercise, which began with the accreditation of voters, commenced at 8:30 am at Ward 10, units 001, 002, 003, 32, and 33 in Ore, was very peaceful and orderly.
The Hope correspondent, who monitored the exercise in some polling units, observed that the casting of votes started immediately after the accreditation process, while the security agents were fully on the ground to maintain law and order during the exercise.
Speaking with The Hope correspondent, the Chairman of Odigbo Local Government, Mr. Taiwo Adegoroye, commended the electorate for coming out to exercise their franchise at the polls.
His words: “Though we experienced a low turnout of voters in today’s election, I am confident that the APC will win this election.”
He thanked the security agents for their presence at the polls, adding that their presence helped maintain law and order during the exercise.
“We are glad that there was no form of violence or intimidation during the exercise; all this is attributed to the presence of the security agents here,” he said.
Some electorate in Ore, who spoke with our correspondent, expressed delight over the exercise and promised to exercise their right without any form of intimidation.
