The Majority Leader,Ondo State House of Assembly, Jamiu Maito has called for more support from well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies to make life better for the vulnerable, saying government alone cannot do it.

He made the call while donating food items and cash to the Ondo State Children’s Home, Oba-Ile, Akure to mark his 50th birthday.

Maito, who  went in company of his wife and children to the Children’s Home, said he is always happy identifying with the orphans to give them a sense of belonging.

The food items donated included; bags of Rice, Semolina, Salt, cartons of Noodles, packets of bottle water and beverages such as maltina, sprite, Bobo/Viju milks; cheese balls and popcorn.

The lawmaker representing Akoko North West Constituency 1 (one) in the state Assembly explained that he was not at the Children’s Home to celebrate but reflect on what God has done in his life and thank Him.

He said him,  thinking of the less privileged in the society has been part of him .

“I attain the golden age of 50  I have nothing to offer God than praises and adoration. One of the ways of appreciating my God for this golden grace and love for me is to think of the less privileged.

I have been privileged to be in this position by God’s grace. There are many others who don’t even have life assurance today, so I think of them too.

“That is why I came to the Children Home (Orphanage Home), Oba-Ile, to give them what I have for their survival,” he said.
