Make Sunshine Stars/Queens formidable teams, SWAN charges club management

Sports Writers Association Of Nigeria, SWAN, Ondo State chapter has urged the Management of Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens to ensure that both teams become formidable in the league.

The association added that the management should do all it requires by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), to ensure that Ondo State Sports complex, Akure continues to host home games.

This is contained in a Communique issued at the end of the Sports writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Congress held at their secretariat in Akure.

The communique commended members of the association for their efforts in ushering in a new set of executive and enjoined all to embrace love as well as unity for the progress of the Association.

The Congress urged all members to be more active in activities of the Association and do the needful to register for 2024 through the State SWAN secretariat.

The Congress also thanked Sunshine Stars FC management for supporting SWAN members during their home games in Akure, adding that same gesture be extended to the club’s away matches.

Members of the association frowned at the appointment of non – member as Public Relations officer for Sunshine Stars.

The move, they described, was in conflict with the position of Media Officer already filled by a SWAN Member.

The Congress commended Ondo State Football Association for sustaining the sponsorship of Bet9ja Ondo State Football League for the second year running.

The Association set up a 3-man committee to see to the condition of the Association’s bus and advise on how it can be put back to use.
