Makinde wins House of Reps  seat in Ondo

Former Caretaker Chairman of Ondo West Local Government area of Ondo state, Mr. Abiola Makinde, has been declared winner for the House of Representatives for Ondo East/West Federal Constituency.

Makinde, a candidate of African Democratic Alliance (ADC) who was the  Organising Secretary South/West of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) polled the highest number of votes of 14,858  voter to beat other contestants in the Saturday National Assembly elections.

Makinde, popularly called “Father of Empowerment” was the chairman, All Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Ondo State chapter, during which he sponsored five youths from the local government for a training in India to learn how to process bamboo into finished products.

He was appointed as a part-time member of the Federal Character Commission between   2014 and 2015. He studied Art and Communications at Harvard University, United States of America.

Makinde while speaking with The Hope said his commitment to the development of his people as a caretaker chairman earned him the victory.

He said his mission is to move Ondo Kingdom to the next level by helping  youths to build their future.
