A 22-year old man, Segun Daniel, has been arraigned before an Akure Magistrates’ Court over the alleged theft of two iron panels.

The Ondo State Police Command dragged the defendant before the court on a one-count charge bordering on theft.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Omhenimhen informed the court that Daniel allegedly committed the offence at Afunbiowo Housing Estate, Idanre, Akure, where he reportedly stole two iron panels valued at N100,000 belonging to one Ojo Ilori.

The prosecution stated that the offence contravened Sections 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Omhenimhen further told the court that he had three witnesses to present and requested time to review the case file.

Presiding Magistrate, O.T. Lebi, adjourned the case till March 21, 2025, for further hearing.
