A 22-year-old man, Akin Akinseye, has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by an Ondo Chief Magistrates’ Court, for stealing items worth N263,000.
The convict committed the offence sometimes in the month of june 2023, at St. Joseph CAC Oke- Isegun Primary School Ondo, in Ondo Magisterial District.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akao Moremi, told the court that the convict stole 15 ceiling fans, valued N225,000, two white chalkboard valued at N38,000, belonging to St. Joseph CAC primary school Oke- Isegun, without their consent.
The offence contravened Section 383 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo, 2006.
The convict pleaded guilty to the charge levelled against him.
Following his guilty plea, the prosecutor urged the court to sentence him accordingly.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Mosunmola Ikujuni , sentenced the convict to 12 months imprisonment without an option of fine, due to the magnitude of the offence.
