Man, 37, docked over assault

A 37-year-old man, Oluwatosin Ayodele has been arraigned before an Odigbo Chief Magistrate Court over an alleged assault.
Men of the Ondo State Police command arraigned the defendant before Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu on a two-count charge bordering on assault and malicious damage.
According to the prosecution, the defendant committed the offence on August 6, 2024 at about 06:20 am at ldimango Area, Ore, Ondo State.
The prosecutor, Inspector James Usifoh told the court that the defendant unlawfully assaulted one Abiola Oyewo by beating him with fist blows.
He alleged that the defendant maliciously damaged one Samsung S9 phone valued the sum of ‘Two Hundred and Seventy ‘Thousand Naira, property ‘6f one Abiola Oyewo
He also alleged that the defendant damaged one Infinix Smart 664 Phone, one Fye lens Glasses valued at N100,000, property of one Morolayo Okungade
The offence contravenes Sections 351, and 451 of the Criminal, Code Cap. 37, Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
When the charge was read, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till September 26, 2024, for hearing.
