Man, 42, lands in court over  visa fraud

A 42-year-old man, Saheed Ademola, was on Monday dragged before a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo over alleged visa fraud and stealing.

The accused was alleged to have committed the crime around March, 2018 at Ogo-Oluwa area, in the Osogbo Magisterial District.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Abiodun Fagboyinbo , told the court that the accused person duped Olapade Samson Taiwo the sum of N740,000 which was to be used for securing Cartel Visa for 40 of Olapade’s customers.

Fagboyinbo, told the court that the accused person collected the money from Olapade, promising to produce 40 visas for him, but failed to do so.

The accused who was facing a  three-count charge  of visas fraud, stealing and lying,  pleaded not guilty to the  charge against him.

Counsel to the accused, Mr Tunde Adedokun, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal term.

The Magistrate, O.A Olayade, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison and adjourned the case to February 14, 2019 for hearing.
