For allegedly violating court order, a 52-year- old business man, Oluwadare Duyilemi, has been remanded in police custody by an Oba-Ile Customary  Court.

The Hope Metro learnt that Duyilemi, the judgement debtor had earlier  brought his wife to court sometime last year in  a  divorce suit, in which the union was dissolved by the Customary Court.

Following the dissolution of the union, the court made an order instructing the defendant to pay a sum of N250,000 to his wife as compensation.

According to the court, the man failed to pay the money to his wife as   ordered.

It was further learnt that his ex-wife,  Mrs Ronke Duyilemi and the judgement creditor, told the court that his husband did not give her the money despite the courts instruction.

She, therefore, approached the court to complain that her husband refused to give her the money, and the court issued a judgement Debtor summon (JDS) to arrest the man.

At the sitting on Wednesday, the man was asked to pay the money. But he said he had no  money to pay in the court.

In her ruling, the presiding president, Mr.Olumuyiwa Aguda said that the judgement debtor has not complied with the law of the state, saying that the man did not show remorse for the offence he committed.

He, therefore, ordered the remand of the man in Oba-Ile police station and  adjourned the case till March 28, 2019.
