Man arraigned for alleged theft of fowl, generator parts

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, has arraigned a man, Lawal Oluwafemi, before a Magistrate’s Court in Akure for allegedly stealing a fowl, a 50kg keg, and generator parts.
The defendant was brought before Magistrate Damilola Sekoni on a two-count charge of stealing.
The prosecution, led by C.C. Ude, told the court that the alleged offences were committed on January 27, 2025, at about 1:30 p.m. on Oluwanisola Street, Ijoka, Akure.
Ude alleged that the defendant stole a 50kg keg, generator parts valued at N55,000, and a broiler fowl worth N35,000, all belonging to one Gbege Olukayode.
The offences, the court heard, contravene Sections 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Ruling on the bail application, Magistrate Sekoni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000, with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must provide an affidavit of means and submit two passport photographs.
As the defendant was unable to meet the bail conditions, he was remanded in Amotekun custody.
The matter was adjourned till March 3, 2025, for further hearing.
