Man arraigned for stealing

A 55-year-old man, Alex Akinwande,has appeared before an Ondo Magistrate Court for alleged threat with intent to steal from one Madam Kafilatu Adedeji.
Adedeji was also alleged to have obtained the sum of N20,000.00 from the complainant while armed with dangerous weapons.
The defendant was arraigned before the court on Tuesday on two- count charge bothering on stealing threat to life.
He was alleged to have committed the offence with others at large in February 27,2020 at 10.00am, at Odojomu area, Ondo.
The police prosecutor, Sergent Charles Olagbayi, said the offence contravened section 86 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
But the defendant pleaded not guilty to the two count charge.
Olagbayi, therefore applied for a date to enable him study the case file, whilethe defendant’s counsel, Barrister A. J Akindele, prayed the court to admit his client to bail in most liberal terms.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr Victor Oloye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one responsible surety in like sum.
He said the surety must be resident jurisdiction within the jurisdiction, and adjourned the case to March 24, this year.
