A 25-year old man, Taiwo Samson has been arraigned before an Odigbo Chief Magistrate Court over an alleged burglary
The defendant was arraigned in court on a three -count charge bordering on conspiracy to wit burglary and stealing
According to the prosecution, the offence was committed on September 23, 2025 at about 8p.m at Ayadi Street Orita – Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo State.
The prosecutor, Inspector James Usifoh, alleged that the defendant and others now at large burgled into the dwelling house of one James Oyebiyi and stole one butterfly sewing machine valued eighty thousand naira and a cash sum of fifty thousand naira , all valued at a total of one hundred and thirty thousand naira
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The offence contravenes Sections 517(A), 410, 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 37 Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
The prosecutor prayed the court for a date to enable him study the case file and prepare his witnesses for trial.
The defence counsel, Mr S. E Jemine did not oppose the request but applied for bail in liberal terms.
The Chief Magistrate, Festus Akinlolu, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned to October 13 2025, for a definite hearing
