A 21-year-old man, Victor Isaac, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment for stealing by an Akure Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Oke-Eda.

The convict was arraigned before Magistrate Tope Aladejana, who found him guilty of the offence and handed him the 3-year jail term without an option of fine.

Men of the Nigerian Police Command, Ijapo Division, arrested Isaac for allegedly stealing a yellow colour 7.5KVA Generator around 2:pm, in January 8, 2023, at No. 10, Imade street, Ijapo Estate.

The complainant had reported the case and Isaac was eventually arrested by the police.

The charge read, “That you, Victor Isaac ‘M’ in January 8, 2023 at 2000hrs at No. 10, Imade Street, Ijapo Estate Akure in the Akure Magisterial District did steal one 7.5KVA yellow colour Generator valued at N500,000, property of one Alphonsus Opoju ‘M’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code cap 37 Vol. ! The convict, who pleaded guilty, told the court that he stole the generator and sold it to one Aboki for N9,000.
