Man beaten to death over alleged phone theft

A middle age man, Samuel Okuchi has lost his life during a quarrel over allegation of stealing a phone.

The deceased, who was resided in a farm land, called Onisosi, at Epe town, Ondo East Local Government, in Ondo state, met his untimely death during the naming ceremony of one of his kinsmen.

Two suspects, Chili Onweke, and his master, Mr Emmanuel Onwori are now  in police net for interrogation at the Ondo State Police headquarters.

The Hope Metro reliably gathered that on the fateful day, the elder brother held a naming ceremony of his child, at Onisosi, during which the deceased was present.

It was learnt that during the ceremony, Chidi Onweke, had accused the deceased, Samuel of stealing his phone where he was charging it.

The disagreement which ensued between them was said to have led to Chidi carrying a plank  and allegedly hit the deceased at his back, which made him to fall.

As the deceased was about to rise to his feet, Chidi’s master, one Emmanuel Onwori reportedly hit him on his neck with another plank, which led to the sudden death of Samuel.
