Man caught stealing window frames

Residents of Ijomimo area of Ijoka, Akure, the Ondo State capital have apprehended a middled aged man, identified as Bolajoko, after he stole aluminum window frames from a residence.
The suspect, who feigned insanity was said to have unlawfully entered into the house of one of the residents and stole the window frames he wanted to sell to an Hausa man.
Upon his arrest, the angry residents reportedly beat him before he was handed over to the policemen at Divisional headquarters at Oda area for further investigation.
Some residents who spoke with The Hope Metro, said there have been series of motorcycle theft and other valuable items in the area and they have been on the look out for the perpetrators.
According to them, the suspect was just pretending to be mentally deranged, but in his right senses.
“if he is mad, how could he have come from nowhere and entered into someone’s house and removed the aluminum window.
” We have handed him over to the police for proper interrogation. We have counted a lot of loses in our area here due to unwholesome activities of miscreants and criminal elements,” they said.
A competent police officer from Oda police station who confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
The source said the Hausa man whom he wanted to sell the aluminum to was also brought to the station by the residents.
He said the statement of the suspects lacked cohesion, as he was expected to exhibit some abnormal behaviors, saying investigation is still on to ascertain the mental state of the suspect.
