Man charged with threat to life

A 32-year-old man, Azeez Ademoloye Adekunle, has appeared before an Ondo Magistrate Court for alleged threat to kill a night guard of Adeyemi College of Education, one Fadowo Ebenezer.
Adekunle was arraigned before the court on two count charge bothering on threat to life and manner likely to cause the breach of peace.
He was alleged to have committed the offence on September 24, 2019, at about 9pm at Adeyemi College of Education compound Ondo.
He was also alleged to have conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by moving around with double barrel.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Charles Olagbayi, said the offence contravened sections 86(2) and 247(d) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the two count charge.
Olagbayi, therefore applied for a date to enable him study the case file.
Counsel to the defendant, Barrister P O Afolayan, prayed the court to admit his client to bail in most liberal terms.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Odenusi Fadeyi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000:00 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
She said that one of the sureties must be resident within the jurisdiction, while the residence should be confirmed by the court’s orderly and report back to court.
The case was adjourned till October 29, 2019 for trial.
