Man docked for allegedly threatening to kill friends

A 25-year old man, Daniel Godwin has been arraigned before an Odigbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for threatening to kill his friends.

The police arraigned the defendant before Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu on a two-count charge.

According to the prosecution, the defendant committed the offence on February 4, 2025 at 10:30am in the Adaja area via Odigbo in Ore.

The prosecutor, Inspector James Usifoh told the court that the defendant threatened to kill one Adebayo Solomon Kunle and Adeoluwa Folasade being the ‘owners of the farm he was caught stealing

He also alleged that the defendant stole the following items; hot leaves and the seeds valued at N50,000, Kolanut valued at N50,000, and cherry fruit valued at N20,000 all total valued at N120,000 property of one Adebayo Solomon Kunle

The offences contravened Sections 390(9), 86 of the Criminal, Code Cap. 37, Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the count when the charge was read to him.

Usifoh prayed for an adjournment to enable him study the case file and gather his witnesses for trial.

The defence counsel, Mr V. A Akinfe did not oppose the application made by the prosecutor, but prayed the court to grant the defendant bail in most liberal term.

In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case till March 3, 2025 for mention
