Man docked over alleged stealing

An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court, on Monday remanded a 26- year-old Hausa man, Ibrahim Usman for alleged stealing and assault.
The accused was alleged to have committed the crime on February 9, 2019 at about 1:30pm at Temidire Estate,Osogbo in the Osogbo Magisterial District.
The police prosecutor, ASP Abiodun Fagboyinbo, told the court that Usman assaulted one Shittu Tajudeen by inflicting iron rod on his knee.
Fagboyinbo alleged further, that the accused person stole used electric wires valued N100,000, property of one Alhaji Arogundade.
The accused person committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 405 and390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol II Laws of Osun State Nigeria, 2003.
The accused person who is facing a two count-charge of stealing and assaulting, pleaded not guilty to the offence charged against him.
Counsel to the accused Barr K. Ugwu, urged the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Aishat Oloyade, ordered that the accused person should be remanded in prison and adjourned the case till February 28, for hearing.
