A 25-year old man, Taofeek Gbadegesin has been arraigned before an Odigbo Chief Magistrate Court over an alleged theft of diesel oil
The defendant was arraigned in court on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy to wit stealing
According to the prosecution, the offence was committed on October 11, 2025 at about 10:00p.m at Akinjagunla area along Lagos/Benin Expressway Ore, Ondo State.
The prosecutor, Inspector James Usifoh, alleged that the defendant and one other, now at large stole 120 litres of diesel oil, valued One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira, Property of one Clement Olawanji
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The offence contravened Sections 518(6), 383, of the Criminal Code Cap. 37 Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
The prosecutor prayed the court for a date to enable him study the case file and prepare his witnesses for trial.
The defence counsel, Mr V. A Akinfe did not oppose the request but applied for bail in liberal terms.
The Chief Magistrate, Festus Akinlolu, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned to December 5, 2025, for a definite hearing
