Man docked over phone theft

A 26-year-old man, Equela Nwabueze has been arraigned at the Osogbo Magistrates court over alleged phone theft.
Nwabueze was said to have committed the offence on February 14, 2019 at about 4:10 p.m. at Africa area of Osogbo.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Abiodun Fagboyinbo, told the court that the accused person stole an Infinix Hot 6 phone worth N60,000, belonging to one Babalola Ajibola while he also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace.
The accused person is facing a two-countcharge bothering on theft and breach of public peace.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections 390(9) and 249 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 vol. 11, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.
Lawyer for the accused, Mr Oladipupo Olatunbosun, prayed the Court to grant his client bail in most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Aishat Olayemi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N40, 000 with two sureties in like sum which she said must reside within the court’s jurisdiction with evidence of tax payments.
The case was adjourned till February 22 for mention.
