Man drugs, rapes lady

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ekiti State Command, at the weekend confirmed the arrest of a 32-year-old man, over alleged rape of a lady, cyber stalking, conspiracy and threat to life.
According to the Commandant of the Ekiti NSCDC, Mr Sunday Agboola, the suspect, Samuel Balogun, was arrested at Omisanjana area of Ado-Ekiti.
Agboola equally confirmed the arrest of four other suspects apprehended within Ado-Ekiti metropolis over alleged human trafficking, burglary and attempted kidnapping.
He said the suspects were arrested by the operatives of the Counter Terrorism attached to the command
The Ekiti NSCDC said one of the suspects Balogun, who was suspected to be on drugs, drugged a lady, (names withheld) and raped her repeatedly and thereafter took a short video of her nude without her consent.
He stated that the suspect later threatened her with the video and made several attempts to use the video to continue with his dastard act.
“The victim refused his sexual advancement and he later sent the video to social media. The unit has recorded and downloaded the video,” he said.
The Commandant said three other suspects, Ojo Temitope, 39; Alade Haruna, 30 and Abiola Okedele, 31, were also arrested along Oshodi community in Ado Ekiti.
He said that the suspects were suspected to be Burkinafasso returnees who specialized in trafficking people from Ado Ekiti to Burkinafasso.
He said:”The suspects are in the habit of defrauding their victims with juicy employment in Burkinafasso and collected huge amount of money from them in the name of seeking greener pastures without knowing that they are landing in another African country.
“Various items recovered from them include a Burkinafasso Army uniform, International passport, bus ticket showing Burkinafasso bus ticket fare payment, charms, substance suspected to be cannabis sativa and other hard drugs.
The State Commandant explained that the suspects would be investigated properly before handing over some of them to the relevant agency for further investigation while the rest will be made available for prosecution.
The commandant who commended the efforts of the Counter Terrorism Unit, cautioned youths especially ladies on toxic relationship with cultists.
