People of Aye community, along Oda road, Akure, have been thrown into confusion as the residents woke up yesterday morning and found the dead body of a middle-aged man, lying on the road.

Residents of the community,  along Oda road  by Mimiko Estate, who were yet to identify the man, gave an hint that he must have been strangulated by unknown killers.

A resident of the community, Mr Kola Adeloye, who is a member of Deeper Christian Life, told The Hope Metro that when he and his family were coming back from the Bible study around 8:00pm, on Monday evening, a pair of slippers was found along the street, but the body was not noticed.

When our correspondent got to the scene yesterday morning, the body of the man neatly dressed in ankara shirt and trouser was still lying across the untarred road, while footprints were observed around his corpse.

But his slippers were two metres away from where he was lying faced down.

Meanwhile, people of the community have called on the security agencies in the state and the state government, to come to their aids, because they could no longer sleep with their two eyes closed.

When contacted,  the Police Public Relations Officer,  Mr Femi Joseph said the cause of his death was yet unknown and nobody has been able to  identify the corpse.

“We don’t know if  he was killed by a hit and run driver or if he was murdered during the night. The body has  been moved to the mortuary for autopsy.
