There was confusion at Laoso camp, in Ondo West local government area of Ondo state, after a 27-year-old son of a traditionalist identified as Tunde, was shot dead with his dane gun.
The Hope Metro gathered that the deceased was shot dead by his friend during a charms’ test around 6:45 pm at the camp.
The deceased and his friend were said to have drank a ‘bullet-repelling’ concoction prepared for them by a native doctor who assured that they could not die from gunshots.
To test the potency of the charms, Tunde was said to have told his friend to shoot him first.
Reports had it that after Tunde’s friend fired his dane gun at him, he fell and died instantly.
He was reportedly rushed to the nearest hospital at the camp, where he was confirmed dead.
It was learnt that his friend who shot him took to his heels before the villagers arrived the scene.
The police at Fagun said the case was reported by one of the villagers. They said investigation is ongoing and the culprits would be arrested soon.
The Hope Metro gathered that the deceased and his friend decided to test the charms to prepare themselves, with the aim of carrying out an evil act during the forthcoming festival in Ondo City.
