Man in court for stealing N200,000

Ondo State Police Command has dragged a 27-year old man, Ogbonaya Francis Friday, before an Akure Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing the sum of two hundred thousand naira (N200,000).
The police prosecutor, Inspector Uloh Goodluck told the court that the accused person committed the offence on March 4, 2019 at about 2:00pm at no.2, Idimepe street Owo within the jurisdiction of the honourable court area of Ondo State.
The accused person was said to have stolen the Money from one Francis Nandi.
The offence was said to be contrary to and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code cap 37 Volume 1 of the Law of Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.
The accused person pleaded not guilty after the charge sheet was read to him.
The defence counsel to the accused person, Barr. Joseph Arinju, apply for his bail.
In his ruling the Chief Magistrate Tope Aladejana granted the accused person bail in the sum of N200,000, one surety with the 2020 tax clearance.
The case was adjourned to August 2020 for trail.
