Man in court over alleged threat to life

A 29-year old man, Daniel Benjamin, has been arraigned before an Ore Chief Magistrate Court over an alleged threat to life

Men of the Ondo State Police command charged Benjamin for conspiracy and threatening of life, before Senior Magistrate C. J. Ijeh.

According to the prosecution, the defendant committed the offence on October 15, 2024, at about 09.30am at Ajiboro Street, Idimango, Ore, Ondo State.

The prosecutor, Inspector Jimoh Amuda told the court that the defendant and four others at large, threatened the life of one Bamgbose James John.

The offence contravenes Sections 516, 86, of the Criminal, Code Cap. 37, Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

When the charge was read, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Amuda, therefore, sought an adjournment to enable him study the case file and prepare his witnesses for trial.

The defence counsel, Mr B. D. Adedugba did not oppose the application made by the prosecutor. But he prayed the court to grant his client bail on the most liberal terms.

Senior Magistrate C. J. Ijeh admitted the defendant to bail in the sum N150, 000, with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case till November 27, 2024 for definite hearing
