Man in court over threat to life

A 37-year-old man, Akintimehin Akinmola has been arraigned before an Odigbo Magistrate’s Court for threatening to kill his neighbour.
The defendant was brought before Senior Magistrate D. O. Ogunfuyi on a count charge of criminal intimidation.
According to the prosecution, the defendant committed the offence on February 5 ,2023 at Cele 1, Ore, Ondo State.
The prosecutor, Inspector Usifo James told the court that the accused violently threatened to kill one Ibironke Kemisola Poroye with diabolical substance believe to be fetish charm.
The offence contravene Section 86 of the Criminal Code Cap. 37 Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offence leveled against him.
Usifo, therefore, sought for an adjournment to enable him study the case file.
The defence counsel, Mr Rufus Omotayo did not oppose the prosecutor’s application. But he prayed the court to grant the accused person bail in most liberal terms.
In his ruling, Senior Magistrate, D. O Ogunfuyi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He, however, ordered the remand of the defendant at the Okitipupa Correctional Centre pending the perfection of his bail.
He adjourned the case till April 21, 2023 for hearing.
