Man kills brother with plank in Akure

A 40-year-old man, Mr Segun Oni, who allegedly killed his 33-year-old brother identified as Sunday Oluwadare, with a plank at Adebowale area of Akure, the Ondo state capital, is now in police custody.
The Hope Metro gathered that the incident which happened on Thursday, was reported to the police by one Mr Ilesami Olawale .
The deceased was said to have had a disagreement which led to a fight between him and Segun Oni at Idimango ,Akure.
According to the police report, during the disagreement, which resulted into a serious fight, Oni used a plank to hit Oluwadare’s forehead , who was later rushed to a nearby private hospital.
Oluwadare, was said to have been later referred to the State Specialist Hospital, Akure, where he gave up the ghost.
It was learnt that the suspect, Oni, who earlier took to his heels, later surrendered himself to the police in Akure, following his wife’s arrest.
Police report said the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the State Hospital mortuary, Akure, while further investigations continue.
