Man lands in prison for stealing phones

An Ondo  Magistrates’  Court  sitting in Okitipupa has remanded a motorcyclist,  Lodi Oluwatosin in Okitipupa prison for allegedly stealing cell phones and other valuable items.

The prosecutor,  Inspector Ayodeji Omoyegha told the court that the accused committed the offence on 12th May 2019 at about 2:30am at No 3 Keramola Street, Okitipupa.

He added that the accused entered into the room of one Mr. Nnnemeka Oyinbo with intention to commit felony.

According to him,  the accused person and other at large stole : One Hot 2 power Android phone valued at N23,000 , (ii) One Itel phone valued at N21,000 (iil) One Tecno Y2 valued at N25,000 (iv)  2 Tecno valued at (v) Four jeans trousers valued at N8,000 (vi )Two shirts and polo valued at N9,000 (vii)Two Sanders valued at N8,000 total value N101,000 property of one Mr. Nnnemeka Oyinbo.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to all the three counts charge.

Defence counsel,  Barrister. O. Ajele applied for the bail of the accused in most liberal terms with assurances that his client would not jump bail.

The presiding magistrate, D. O Ogunfuyi did not take the plea of the accused, but ordered for his remand in Okitipupa prison custody.

He adjourned the case till June 20 for continuation of trial.
